WVU Outstanding Alumni Award

Dr. Carver was honored in April by the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences of West Virginia University for contributions she has made in her profession. She received her undergraduate degree from WVU in 1990. The University hosted a ceremony and reception in Morgantown for all 2017 Outstanding Alumni Awardees.

Dr. Carver's work has focused on the development of statistical approaches to risk-assessment in security-related contexts. Much of her work has been in the area of adversarial and behavioral modeling. Over the years, she has provided services to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), the Defense Advanced Projects Agency (DARPA), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and large financial institutions, among others.

She is a demographer by training, completing a National Institute of Child Health and Human Development-funded post-doctoral research fellowship and the Carolina Population Center of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has published many studies in top-rated professional journals.
